More campus shots

View of the "mall" which is a grassy area where students will hang out.

My intern friends! Heather, Amanda, & Erin.

Umm...some cool building. I guess i wasnt paying attention during this part of the tour. It reminds me of one of the buildings on the MIT campus in Boston.

UMN Twin Cities Campus

This is the student union. Does it look like a gopher head?

This is what I see when I get off the bus in the morning. The skyline is so pretty-puts me in a good mood.

Goldie the Gopher

Shoe tree. It has a zillion shoes hanging from it. Supposedly people throw shoes on the tree after their first sexual experience or athletic competition. I say the interns toss our shoes after we defend our dissertations!

Camping

The Feia's had their annual camping trip the weekend after I moved in so I joined them! We were at Interstate Campground which is like 45 mns way from me. Everyone had campers so it wasn't roughing it-which was fine with me!

We went on a big ol paddle boat trip.

Sweet, sweet, wild Bella.

First Visitors

A few days after I moved in Andrea, Norm, and little Sienna stopped by for a visit. They were in MN to visit Norm's family so I was lucky enough to see them for an afternoon. When I was unpacking I found a monkey that Andrea had given me many years ago so i left it out for sienna to play with. She is getting sooo big and is as cute as ever!

Moving in

We finally made it Friday evening and even though were were late we were able to get the keys for the apartment. Saturday morning Dave and Amanda (friends from Albany who now live in MN) and Aaron (my cuz) helped us move in. Then Uncle Jeff and Aunt Roberta drove from Lacrosse, WI (a few hours away) to help us unpack. We went to IKEA (Aunt Roberta and I were in heaven) and dad bought me a bed and dining room table and some other things. Aunt Roberta and Uncle Jeff were soooooooooo helpful with assembling things because there was a lot to assemble and dad and I are just not good with that. The Uptown Art Fest (ilive in Uptown) was that weekend so we went and enjoyed ourselves. It was fun to hang out with A Roberta and U Jeff for the weekend and I am so glad they came!

Minnesota, here we come!

After five years in Albany working on my graduate degree in counseling I am finally moving on to start my year long internship at the UMN counseling center. Having mixed feelings about leaving (excited to get out of albany yet sad to leave my friends) my dad and I (and Rascal) prepared to drive 20 hours from albany to minneapolis. Dad flew in from FL then eventually flew back from minni. So.....our second day, a few hours into the trip, the uhaul broke down outside of Chicago. A mechanic came out but because he couldn't fix the problem the uhaul got towed off the highway and a new uhaul was brought. That meant we had to unload the uhaul (which had taken my dad and i a whole day to pack!) and load up the new one. Fortunately there were about 5 guys from uhaul and the tow company who helped us. In all, it was a 4 hour delay. But....we finally made it!
